The United Nations Human Settlements Programme conference (UN-HABITAT III) takes place in a cycle of 20 years and in 2017 it will happen in Ecuador.

Housing Europe, the European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing, will be represented by its President of the Social Committee and President of the Portuguese Committee for Public Housing, João Carvalhosa, partner of the Serra Henriques Foundation, to whom we wish the biggest success in this representative mission.

We are talking about the most relevant and decisive moment of the debate and definition of world policies about urban demographics, housing, territorial planning, economy and environment.

In face of the enormous problems and challenges that Member States face, we hope that a New Urban Agenda for the XXI century might result from this major reflection, renewing the political commitment towards a truly coherent and sustainable urban development.
